The White Jacket – 3 Ways

whtie jacket

A wardrobe staple, the white jacket will never go out of fashion.  It comes in many sizes, qualities and shapes… with buttons, without buttons, with collars, lapels, pockets, longs sleeves, ruched sleeves… and on it goes.

H&M have a nice one at the moment for €29.99, and I have styled it here in three different ways to show how elegant or casual you can make the white blazer.

The first look is a classy elegant look, with the white jacket teamed up with neutral colours in camel and beige.  The camel coloured trousers are a simple structured pants with a straight leg.  Don’t opt for a cheap material in these as you will need a pants that will wash well and won’t get too baggy.  Most of the high street will stock a good camel trousers, such as Marks and Spencer, GAP, Next, and H&M. Missguided have a nice modern twist on the camel trousers for €35.00.

The second look is much more laid back, a casual weekend look for shopping with the girls or going for lunch with friends.  Coral coloured denims brighten up the outfit, and I have teamed these with a slightly cropped coral and black striped fitted top – you would mostly find these styles in River Island, Topshop, Next and Oasis.  A black cross-body bag goes well with this style to keep the look casual and easy.

The third and final look is more for the office or day-time business chic.  A black trousers keeps the look professional, or you could up the game with a pin-stripe peg-leg.  I’ve added a plain black simple top inside this, which are commonly available in Penneys, Dunnes, River Island, Oasis, H&M, GAP, Next, or Topshop.  Plain black court shoes would keep the look simple and elegant but here I have added just a pop of interest with black and white high peep-toes.  To finish the look I have added a large black tote-bag to hold all your day to day necessities going from day to night.  Keep the look sharp with a Michael Kors or DKNY bag all available from Brown Thomas.
